Violence persists more and more in schools, particularly in Côte d'Ivoire, where it is experiencing a resurgence through early leave which consists of the cessation of classes in secondary schools. She intervenes under the pretext of wanting to go on Christmas leave before the date officially prescribed by the educational authorities. The recurrence of the phenomenon with its share of destruction of material goods and loss of human life prompted this study. Its objective is to analyze the manifestations of early leave in order to propose management mechanisms. The data was collected in the municipalities of Cocody and Yopougon, the epicenter of the phenomenon, from students, teachers and educators. A questionnaire and an interview guide were used for data collection. The results indicate that the main causes are group spirit, the expression of bravery and the reproduction of violent behavior among students. The warning signs are hissing and dislodging of classes by throwing stones. The leaders are students, generally from the second cycle and male. The mechanisms for managing early leave proposed by the respondents focus more on preventive measures.
